Historic Vehicles at the Bong Center...............................

Click on the Harley Davidson WLA photo for
more details

Thanks to the generosity of our late friend, Northland military vehicle collector and restorer extraordinaire Kevin Kronlund of Trego, Wisconsin, we are able to share with our visitors unique, historic military vehicles. Currently on display are a 1944 Airborne Scooter; a 1944 Ford Jeep, 1950s M38 Jeep in US Navy colors, a Clarktor aircraft tug and a Harley Davidson WLA motorcycle.

U.S. Flag Disposal Drop-Off at the Center

You can drop-off your damaged or worn US Flags at the Center's Flag Depository Box located in our lobby.  American Legion Post 435, the Richard I. Bong Post (which is headquartered at the Center) will see that your flag is properly disposed of according to the US Flag Code: "the flag, when it is in such a condition that it no longer is afitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."  The flag drop-off box was created as part of Adam Sauter's Eagle Scout project.

"Delivering the Goods"

The US Merchant Marine in WWII Exhibit-on display on the mezzanine level. Learn about the duties and dangers of delivering vital war-time supplies via the sea.
